South Padre Island Emergency Management
Sunny Day on South Padre Island

Aug. 21, 2007 (9 a.m.)

With Hurricane Dean to hit Mexico as a category 1 midday today, Wednesday, South Padre Island's weather is sunny and partly cloudy. There may be some increased wave activity so swimmers, as always, are asked to exercise caution.

The Emergency Management Team for the Town of South Padre Island will provide regular updates. Should you like to be included in our Emergency Management e-mails, please send an e-mail to Melissa Zamora at melissa@sopadre.com. Hurricane identification stickers are available from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. In the event of a storm, the stickers allow for re-entry to the Island. For more information, call Jason Moody at (956) 761-6458.
